Barong Dance

It is traditional dance from Bali. Barong dance is told about fighting between Barong and Rangda. It’s symbolizes good and evil. Barong is an ancient animal, it’s symbolize the good. And Rangda is an ancient animal, it’s symbolize the evil.

Dancer of Barong usually two men, because the dance so hard and gently. The character of Rangda is frightened and the dancer is usually special person, because Rangda costume is has magic energy. The Barong dance is assigned by five chapters.

Chapter one:

Two dancer people emerge and Rangda followers is searching Goddess Kunti which on the road to met her obedient.

Chapter two:

Goddess Kunti arrived. One follower of Rangda change the aspect become to devil and include the evil ghost to Goddess Kunti follower causing them become to angry, and meet the obedient.

Chapter three:

Emerge the Goddess Kunti and her child Sadewa. Goddess Kunti have promised Rangda to deliver Sadewa as victim. In fact Goddess of Kunti liver do not reaching sacrifice her child Sadewa to Rangda but devil including evil ghost to it causing Goddess Kunti can become to angry and remain to intend to sacrifice her child. Goddess Kunti throw Sadewa in the forest and bunched him in near by Rangda castle.

Chapter four:

The God Siwa is decent and gave the eternity live to Sadewa. Then the Rangda is come to mangle and kill the Sadewa but, Rangda can’t kill him, because Sadewa is get eternities live from God Siwa. Rangda yield to the Sadewa and request to save there in heaven. This request is grant by Sadewa, and Rangda get the Heaven.

Chapter five:

Kalika one of the Rangda met Sadewa to also save there in heaven but, It’s deduction by Sadewa. This Deduction generate the fight and Kalika change the aspect become the forest pig and in contention become the bird but, remain to be defeat by Sadewa. And Kalika change the aspect again become the Rangda. Miraculous along of Rangda, Sadewa can’t kill Kalika. Sadewa change into the Barong because the miraculous is same. Finally happened the endless war. Between good and evil, Barong and Rangda.
